This poem aims to describe the absurdity of modern dating. The text describes the action of going in circles. This is emphasised not only by the layout of the poem, but also by the title referring to the myth of Sisyphus, who was condemned to endlessly roll a heavy rock up a steep hill only for it to roll down again as it nears the top.
